Hospital Radio Leighton
The membership is made up of a number of presenters who produce programmes from Specialist shows to Request programmes. New Members will be required to be trained by an experienced broadcaster over a number of weeks before being accepted into the society as a full member. Training usually takes about six months on one night per week and will involve gathering requests from listeners or from their relatives. Presenters will then put together the programme for broadcast that night.
The hours are usually between 6pm and 9.30pm on Monday to Friday, Saturdays between 9.00am and 1.00pm and Sunday evenings between 5.00pm and 9.00pm.

Technical staff are trained in the working of the equipment by an experienced sound engineer. The new member will be assigned a programme to provide the technical assistance needed for the presenters who do not wish to do technical as well as presentation.
CONTACT- Bob Squirrell (Technical Director and Chairman).
Sadly Radio Leighton can not accommodate students who would like one or two week work experience placements at the station. This is because the majority of 'live' broadcasting occurs on weekday evenings, and each night there are different presenters so it would be difficult to organise work experience. Also we ideally want volunteers who are able to be with us for several years.
